Timeline

2012

IBF is founded to support farmers and transform India’s potato industry. With a clear mission to bridge the gap between farm-level challenges and consumer demands, IBF set out to create a sustainable, value-driven ecosystem for potato-based products.

2013

IBF launches its first Dehydrated Potato flakes Processing Unit in Gujarat with a capacity of 4,000 MTPA for helping farmers to reduce waste and boost incomes.

2015

IBF expands its capacity to 8,000 MTPA, becoming a leading supplier of dehydrated potato flakes in India’s Horeca segment.

2016

IBF diversifies its portfolio by setting up its first Frozen Food Processing Unit for French Fries in Gujarat with a capacity of 12,000 MTPA. This facility serves international markets in Southeast Asia, and the Pacific.

2018

IBF establishes a Dehydrated Potato Flakes Processing Unit in Punjab with 6,000 MTPA capacity to cater to rising domestic demand.

2019

IBF expands its Punjab unit to 15,000 MTPA to meet growing demand.

2020

IBF expands the French Fries line at its Gujarat plant to 50,000 MTPA, increasing production capacity.

2022

IBF launches the Hungritos brand in the domestic market. The company sets up Asia’s largest French Fries Processing Unit in Gujarat with a capacity of 150,000 MTPA, enhancing its footprint both domestically and globally. Total French Fries & Potato Specialties capacity surpasses 200,000 MTPA.

2024

IBF strengthens its Dehydrated Potato Flakes capacity with the addition of a new 18,000 MTPA plant in Madhya Pradesh, bringing total flakes capacity to 40,000 MTPA.

An alumnus of IIT Bombay, Mr. Neel Kotak is the visionary founder and driving force behind Iscon Balaji Foods. With a deep passion for innovation and purpose-led entrepreneurship, he has transformed IBF into India's largest exporter of value-added potato products.

Under his leadership, IBF has grown into a 1200+ people-strong organization with a presence across 40+ countries. Mr. Kotak's sharp business acumen, people-first approach, and long-term vision continue to shape IBF’s evolution into a diversified, future-ready enterprise.

Karan Dhand

Chief Operating Officer

With over 16 years of deep-rooted expertise in potato farming, supply chain, and processing, Mr. Karan Dhand is the operational backbone of IBF. He oversees the complete value chain — from contract farming and agronomy support to factory operations and end-product delivery.

Mr. Dhand’s strategic thinking and on-ground insight ensure that IBF’s high-quality standards are consistently met, while his passion and people-first leadership continue to inspire teams across functions. His contributions have been instrumental in establishing IBF as a benchmark in supply chain excellence.
